The Diplomatic Club Israel is a registered private company providing information and services for foreign diplomats and their families based in Israel. The idea of the Diplomatic Club was born from the success of a 1998 summer Tennis Tournament. There is no problem for members of the diplomatic corps meeting in the line of official duties. Quite the contrary - there may seem be too much of it at times. At the tennis tournament and subsequent club events, everyone commented on the simple pleasure of being able to gather informally in shorts and T-shirts. It seems there is a need for some sort of informal framework for social activities for this community. For our initial concept of a Diplomatic Club we have looked at the activities of several such clubs which operate in different countries and which provide similar activities to ours.
